This Session will present the features that are new in Spring 3.0. These features will be shown and some of them will be subject of a specific focus (Spring Expression Language, REST support etc.). Many examples and best practices will also be shown. We will also present the steps for a migration to Spring 3.0, the benefits of this new version, a comparison with JEE and the impacts on the portfolio projects.
Carl Azoury CEO of Zenika Group.
He is a certified Spring trainer since 2007, and does consultancy on performance optimization using Hibernate. He gives talks on Terracotta and Wicket in many conferences, and Java User Groups. Before doing Java, he was a Smalltalker, and likes to remind a quote from Alan Kay “Simple things should be simple, and complex things should be possible”.

He has worked for many years as an IT Architect designing and developing search engines and high availability portals with quite big experience in the private and public sector. Participating in many HUGS and vivid Linux user never misses opportunities like FOSSCOMM’s and OpenCoffes!

He designed and developed important software for different kind of clients like the industry, army or energy field. He is now dedicated to build high level, distributed and scalable systems with Terracotta and other distributed tools.
George Moraitakis, PhD
He is a certified Project Manager and Business Analyst with long experience in the deployment of complex IT projects. Having worked as IT Architect across various industries, ranging from Science to Banking, he has developed and designed a number of systems including online banking, debt collection systems, bio-molecular analysis software and others using purely open source technologies.
